Hmmm, where to start? At my age there's a lot to remember!
Music has always been such a big part of my life since I was kid.

I joined school choirs and dance troupes whenever I got the chance. I was always hampered by my very painful shyness, so standing in a group was okay but being solo on stage was a nightmare. My two brothers are both live musicians, playing many different instruments and its thanks to them that I actually started my career as a pro vocalist. They backed me up and being part of a threesome made it slightly easier for me to get out there and perform. I never wanted to be famous or a star, so everything I got from my career was a bonus for me. The three of us played up and down the country most nights for many years and when my big brother decided to move down to Cornwall, from our home town of Leicester, I bought a book on how to beat shyness and went and auditioned for a Big Band. I got the job too and this was such a thrill. Fronting a sixteen piece band complete with roadies and a director was an amazing experience and it was only after a phone call from my bruv in Cornwall with an offer to take up a residency in an hotel there that ended up running for seven years that I left. From there I went to Benalmadena as part of a trio with one of my brothers and my then boyfriend who played fiddle, bass and keyboards; then to Expo '92 in Seville with a five piece band, after getting a very good offer which turned out to be a nightmare, but got me started on what was to be my solo career. After coming back skint from Expo having not been paid I literally HAD to work solo to earn the money. My mate persuaded me to come to Tenerife and that was it. I had written for newspapers in Benalmadena, so was thrilled to be head hunted by journalist Sandie Lamming for The Paper, whom I have now been with since the very beginning many years ago. My music taste ranges vastly and its one of the reasons I wanted to work on radio. I love the different choices made by various presenters both young and old and when John Sharples asked me to co-host his show, I jumped at the chance. I have always rated Bob Preston so when the call came to have my own show on the all new Fresh fm with Bob giving me lots of tips I was thrilled. Being a radio presenter is a new experience for me and I am listening and learning all the time. I love to play and listen to everything except rap.(I just cannot get into that at all!) and some of my favourite vocalists are Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac) and Kirsty McCall . Karen Carpenter's voice was also so beautiful to hear but I also like Anastacia, U2, and Paul Weller! Radio has given me the chance to learn more about the music scene in a very different way and I am very grateful to Fresh fm for letting me become a part of its team. I intend to carry on for as long as they let me and improve every show.
